On Friday, 28th September 2018, there was an official opening of the photo exhibition “Hidden life of the underground” in Biološko središče in Ljubljana. We were honoured to have very extinguished speakers present, the Dean of the Biotechnical Faculty, prof. dr. Emil Erjavec, and the Head of the Chair of zoology, prof. dr. Rok Kostanjšek. After their welcome, there was a short talk with prof. dr. Boris Sket, founder of the first Group for speleobiology and zoology at University of Ljubljana (which is currently called Subterranean Biology Lab), who also opened the exhibition. The programme was led by Maja Zagmajster, and enriched with the musical performance, given by singer Mateja Grašič, PhD student at Department of Biology of BF UL, and pianist, Mojca Ančimer. Participants of the opening event had the unique opportunity to see also the 3D model of Niphargus, made by dr. Žiga Fišer.
